Fourth. Hunt down cyber criminals/terrorists and kill them. Too much of the cyber defense world suffers from a Maginot Line mentality. An offensive is needed. The Feds have a monopoly on this sort of kinetic approach. Obvious limitation if they are sheltering in China or Russia but Moldova or Iran, it's open season. Even with friendly powers, persuasion or bribery could be used. With Russia, once the Ukranian lunacy is done, relaxation of sanctions can be tied to them taking care of the bad actors. With China, a foreign policy approach is needed. We have certainly confronted China on other issues.

Cybersecurity standards need to be made law by Congress YESTERDAY!!! Why this hasn't been done yet is beyond ridiculous.

Right on cue, look at what's happening now:

CNN, MAY 15, 2026 "Hackers Have Breached Tank Readers at US Gas Stations; Officials Suspect Iran Is Responsible"

"The hackers responsible have exploited automatic tank gauge (ATG) systems that were sitting online and unprotected by passwords, allowing them in some cases to tinker with display readings on the tanks but not the actual levels of fuel in them, the sources said."

-------

"The hacking campaign is also a warning to many US critical infrastructure operators who have struggled to secure their systems despite years of federal exhortations."

-------

"Since the war began in late February, Tehran-linked hackers have caused disruptions at multiple US oil and gas and water sites, shipping delays at Stryker, a major US medical device maker, and have leaked the private emails of FBI Director Kash Patel."

CISA is the same organization that played a large part to turn the "disinformation" and censoring game against the USA's own citizens as part of the Covid 19 psyop campaign by our own government. What is proposed here is allowing these same people to insert themselves into the "critical infrastructure space". They are a threat to us, themselves. I do not know what the answer is. It's like "congressional oversight " of the intelligence agencies as a whole.

Hundreds of billions to Ukraine and other nations. Massive spending fraud up the wazzoo. China doing all the cool infrastructure and tech things. California cannot even build a bullet train.

My local city council of the college town I live in are meeting to discuss a crisis in honoring a person that is an antisemite, and also another crisis for buying something that connect back to Israel. Meanwhile the roads are mess, the parks are a mess, homeless infest the downtown, city buildings are in disrepair.

The job of keeping the people safe and keeping infrastructure maintained is really the only two jobs we should expect from government. Thankfully we do the first one well, but we suck at the second. And Trump attempts to do some good there is the ballroom and the reflecting pool, and they want to destroy him for it.
