“ seminal moment of betrayal in its relationship with the White House”…can you even hear yourself? Are you capable of self reflection on how partisan the media has become ?

What passes for news coverage on the left is nothing short of partisan dem talking point propaganda. The press has activley participated in deceiving the public about Biden’s health and covid and so much more. And Trump won big in those lawsuits because the news is corrupt and unfair to him. The press are lucky they have it this good. Trump has every right to treat them worse and still not run afoul of the first amendment.

Mr. Willis, I can’t understand your writing this article. At least a half dozen times you agree that Trump is treated poorly by the press and press association with bias, almost outright activism, excluding right leaning news outlets in the front rows, giving Biden a pass and that they deserve the criticism. You agree many of his actions have been warranted.

Yet you then say Trump should be above it all and not call them out. I wholeheartedly disagree. Ignoring their actions means enabling them. Not suing them means enabling them to keep doing it. The media has earned everything they get. You even admit it several times in your article saying it was warranted. Bullies keep bullying until they get a bloody nose.

During the first Trump administration, and also during the term of Mr. AutoPen, including during the "pandemic," the coverage of "mostly peaceful" demonstrations, the open border, and the list goes on and on and on, the corporate media demonstrated a flagrant lack of honesty and objectivity that materially harmed the American people and the people of the world. (For example, the terrible relations with Russia that have resulted in thousands being killed in Ukraine, ignoring all the victims of crime by illegal aliens, etc. ) The corporate media is complicit in all these and many other harms. They had eight years to change their ways; the failing NYT even promised to do so, but they lied. Now Trump is crushing them, and deservedly so. Don't ask for or expect a shred of mercy. You showed you are indeed Fake News and The Enemy of the People. Now go pound sand.

You lied shamelessly about Russiagate for years, plunging the Administration into chaos, and causing innocent people to be jailed. You lied about Covid, injuring the development of millions of children and likely causing needless deaths. But where is the contrition? How many Pulitzers have been returned? Deal with this before asking for immunity from lawsuits. No one has touched your First Amendment rights.

He is trying to coerce them to tell the truth. These news outlets have been willingly involved in attempts to deceive the American people (Russiagate, Trump saying white supremacist were "fine people, etc., Joe Biden is in charge). Report ALL the facts, let people decide what to do with the information.

Media bs is and has been out of control. Have you watched the aggressiveness of media anchors? Their “questions” are full-throated attacks. Look at the outrageous behavior of Jim Acosta, for example, during Trump 1. I have watched these protected fools destroy good people with their lies. Their lazy repetition of Dem rhetoric is a disgrace to journalism.

The Wall Street Journal article was not a piece of hard news from a critic. It was a vicious hit piece with no data except what was particularly twisted to create nasty implications. How the editors allowed it to be published is a better question than if suing is appropriate. Is it that turnabout is fair play or wallowing in the mud with pigs that best describes all the MAGA pushback? After Trump, the next Republican President, or the next blue dog Democrat President can restore the formal niceties. But after Trump, it will help both sides to realize that they may have gone over the line in the past and should at least try to do better.
