When white working class people in the United States are suffering de-industrialization, declining living standards, widespread substance abuse, faced with excessive costs for food, healthcare, housing and most everything else; it is not surprising that their tolerance for special efforts to help out even more troubled groups in society is waning.
I would say rather than condemn critical race theory that conservatives might want to consider embellishing it in order to find common ground with other segments of the working class.
Conservatives, in so far as they reject liberal individualism and its cult of expertise, basically are situated within the field of sociology.
Paint a richer fuller picture with your work, not one that pretends slavery for blacks and genocide of the American Indians did not happen.

Education need not be a patriotic endeavor, but it can never be a morally or spiritually neutral one.
