I understand it’s hard to watch an intelligent, normal, statesman who can actually assemble complete sentences humiliate our aged, incoherent prez on the world stage, especially when he only won because Don intervened against him in his campaign. Meanwhile, the United States offers Lake America as Don flails with his taco tariff charade… Makin us proud as he emulates a twelve year old.
But “not a real country” belies knowledge of Canada’s history of fighting shoulder to shoulder with us. Ya might wanna use that google thingy.
If oil is taken out of the equation, the U.S. runs a significant trade surplus with Canada. The policy intent of the tariffs is clear and President Trump freely admits that the intent is to de-industrialize Canada (autos, for example). Fair enough to target countries that are in unfair trade relationships with the U.S. Canada is not one of them. The U.S. trade policies are strengthening China and alienating its allies.
I can’t help but chuckle. Oren advances high brow theories on how the economy is going swimmingly due to Don’s deft manipulation, while every day in the real world we watch the aging leader of his movement sink further into incoherence. Does no one actually read his daily bleats, or listen to his rambling diatribes? One cannot listen to these incoherent rants and believe he’s orchestrating a strategy. So, in the real world, the approval ratings of the leader of the “new” right continue to plummet. His numbers on the economy have even sunk lower than Joepa’s, his fellow aging octogenarian…
Seems to me Don spends more time corralling corrupt crypto loot, plastering his name on things, toying with taco tariffs, starting Middle East wars, alienating allies, and chasing our non-criminal brown neighbors than he does implementing actual long term economic policy.
