A stable economy with growing per capital income should be the objective in a low birthrate situation. It's always sad to read this kind of piece, where the author ignores the performative cruelty inherent in Don's immigration policies. There is a legitimate debate to be had with good faith actors of every perspective on these issues. There is also a way to execute those consensus policies without the violence and cruelty we've witnessed.
A sober analysis of administration policy must acknowledge this reality to be taken seriously. There are fellow human beings involved, we should be able to act like a civilized nation.

The cruelty began with Dems who saw Blue State populations shrinking and decided to open the border, to spare Dems 2030 Reapportionment slaughter. Blue States will lose 10-12 House seats during the 2030 Reapportionment thanks to Americans with a choice, refusing to continue to dwell under Blue Rule. Without Biden's migrants they would likely lose a half dozen more.
The legal community has long assumed Sect 2 of the Voting Rights Act would fall and hand Reps 10-20 more House seats, after its' curtailment, if the law wasn't invalidated in whole.
The loss of 20-30 House seats, all gerrymandered for Reps before an election begins, is nearly insurmountable for Dems. This left Dems one option before 2030, to remain electorally relevant. Dissolve the border and offer Blue State migrants everything from free 5 star hotels, to free medical care, phones and delivered laundry, if they propped up sagging Blue State populations.
Dems knew the impending fallout. Immigration Law has not changed in decades. Mass deportations were assured, but Dems were playing a numbers game. If even 5 million of the 10 million remain after Trump, Dems are far better off than had the border remained in tact.
Most Americans have no idea millions of people roam the US with Final Orders of Deportation in hand, or that Dems waived 1.5 million previous deportees back in to the US under Biden, despite a lifetime ban.
The situation is horribly cruel. The creation of a permanent lower caste always is. The blame however does not belong to Trump, but with Progressives faced with the choice of amending their policies to appeal to Americans or importing people like livestock to be used for Reapportionment rescue.
I too opposed Joepa’s failed immigration policies, though I don’t believe the bizarre conspiracy theory you spin. Regardless, those failed policies don’t excuse Don’s performative cruelty. But, it’s always interesting to see self-described “Christians” act in such an unchristian way. Pope Leo’s words might serve as healthier inspiration for MAGA, Don’s relationship to religion seems to be the God Bless the USA bibles he scams his followers with.
